Regenerasi Blogger

Menurut Ndoro Kakung:

I have just installed Windows Live Writer 2009 on my HP Mini netbook. Does it mean that I will start to actively blog again? Not too sure. :) Can’t guarantee that.

Right now I’m just testing to use Windows Live Writer 2009 on my netbook. So far, it works just fine. Let’s see whether it can publish…

Singapore vs Australia

I stumbled upon this post, written by an Indonesian woman who lived in Singapore previously and now currently lives in Australia. I didn’t know the writer personally (although I might have seen her in one of gathering events I attended couple of years back) but to be frank, I’m quite interested on what she has written. Especially this one:

The third reason is because I can feel equal living in its real multicultural society. Singapore may claims that it is a multicultural country with its Chinese, Indian and Malay society live in harmony. Australia does not need to claim it because you can see and feel it whenever you go. If I go to Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and other restaurants; most probably the chef and/owner are from the country where the food originally come from. I can easily see people who were originally from France, Italy, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, South Africa, America, South America and many other countries here. These people who were originally from other countries, including the second generation, work in various field of work.

I’ve been to Australia (and recently New Zealand) before, and I would have to agree with her. I find Australia to be a very nice place to stay, with friendly people. So far, I find that the infamous rumour saying that Australians are a bit “racist” to other races, especially Asians, is not true, after all. Well, there might be some who are, but it doesn’t mean that we have to generalise that everyone there is.

Quicklink: Obama : support & assist – don’t bring him down

Quotes from the original article by Harry Sufehmi:

Let’s be clear about one thing - Obama is not perfect. Anyone thinking the reverse is deluded.

Another one:

That said - I’m absolutely appalled at lack of patience that’s displayed by some people. Do you SERIOUSLY think that 8 YEARS of destructions done by Bush can be reversed by Obama in 1 MONTH ??

And another one:

People, help Obama to make USA better for you. Don’t drag him down over small details. When he made mistakes - let him know that you’re not happy. When he try to do something right, let him know too that you support him.

I am one of those who are still hoping that Obama can blow the wind of change to the better, not only for the people of America but to the rest of the world.

Yes, hopefully.

Disclaimer: saya sendiri belum pernah kesana.

Tadi sore ke ShinTokyo/Ramen Ten -Halal- di Clementi City Vibes (dekat MRT,
gedung yang baru dibangun). Karena baru buka, ditawarkan promo khusus sushi
piring putih, biasanya $2.30 jadi $0.99 sepiring. Pilihannya banyak sekali
dan enak2… Grilled unagi sushi sangat recommended, cakep benar rasanya.

COE Drops to S$200

I read today’s TODAY newspaper and learned that the COE for cars above 1600cc has dropped to S$200 on yesterday’s open bidding exercise. Does this mean that now is a good time to buy a new car (or change to a new car) in Singapore? :)

Hmm… not really. Especially, considering that we are expecting a ‘sharpest, longest’ recession ever. :(

Sony might quit Sony Ericsson’s joint venture?

I’m reading here that Sony is considering exiting the Sony Ericsson joint venture with Ericsson, after the joint venture was posting a $247 million loss for 2008.

Hopefully future supports and services for Sony Ericsson phones, including my Xperia X1, will not be stopped.

Terjemahan Entry Kron Saya

Season’s Greetings

I would like to wish all my Christian friends a very merry and joyful Christmas. I also would like to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year 2009.

Apologise for not updating my blogs for quite a while. Seems that I would need to take a break from blogging activities for now. I might be actively blogging again some other time later, who knows? :)

Furthermore, I’m currently having some technical issues with my self-hosted WordPress- based blogs, namely Minda Indra and Planet Indra, which I haven’t had the time to fix. I hope to fix the issues ASAP when I have the time.

In the meantime, you will still see me actively micro-blogging on Kronologger (which in turn will also update my Twitter and Plurk, as well as my Facebook status). I will also still be updating my photos to Multiply. So, I guess that I will still see you around. :)

P.S. Writing this entry at IMM, using my Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.

Upgrade WordPress dan FeedWordPress

Setelah down selama beberapa minggu dan sementara digantikan dengan situs saya yang berbasis Gregarius, akhirnya situs Planet Indra saya sekarang bisa aktif kembali dengan tampilan seperti biasa, berbasis WordPress dengan menggunakan plug-in FeedWordPress. RSS feed Planet Indra pun sekarang aktif seperti biasa, setelah “meninggal” selama beberapa minggu, mengingat situs Gregarius saya tidak men-support RSS feed.

Ngga apa-apa, toh cuma blog agregasi. :) Saya juga memanfaatkan kesempatan ini untuk meng-upgrade WordPress-nya ke versi 2.0.11 dan FeedWordPress-nya ke versi 2008.1105.
